This Privacy Policy explains how OneKampung collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal data when you use onekampung.com (the “Platform”). We are committed to handling your personal data in accordance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
What personal data we collect
- Account data: your name, email address, and password when you register.
- Profile data: your display name and optional profile picture.
- Business & listing data: business name, description, category, location/area, contact details (phone, WhatsApp, email, website, social links), photos, products, and prices you choose to submit.
- Reviews & messages: ratings, review text, and replies you post.
- Usage data: listing views and contact-click counts, and basic technical information such as your browser type and IP address, collected to keep the Platform secure and to show owners how their listings perform.
- Cookies: small files used to keep you logged in and remember preferences (see section 7).
How we use your personal data
- To create and manage your account and verify your email;
- To publish and display the listings, products, reviews, and profile information you submit;
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Platform;
- To show business owners performance statistics for their own listings;
- To send you service emails (for example, verification, listing status, and review notifications);
- To protect against spam, fraud, and misuse;
- To comply with legal obligations.
Consent
By submitting your personal data and using the Platform, you consent to its collection, use, and disclosure as described in this Policy. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us (see section 10), though doing so may mean we can no longer provide certain features, such as keeping your listing live.
Publicly visible information
Please remember that your business listing — including the business name, description, photos, and any contact details you add — is intended to be public, so that customers can find and contact you. Your reviewer display name and review text are also publicly visible. Do not include any personal information in these fields that you do not wish to be public.
Disclosure of personal data
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it only:
- With service providers who help us run the Platform — for example our web host [Hostinger], email/delivery providers, and spam-protection providers (such as Google reCAPTCHA or hCaptcha) — who are permitted to use it only to provide their service to us;
- Where required by law, regulation, or a valid legal request;
- To protect the rights, safety, or property of OneKampung, our users, or the public.
Third-party services
The Platform may use third-party services that process limited data, including: spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA / hCaptcha), email delivery (SMTP provider), and image sources for stock photography. These providers have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for the Platform to function (such as keeping you logged in) and may use cookies to remember preferences. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling essential cookies may affect how the Platform works.
Data retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform, and afterwards only as long as necessary to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights (Access & Correction)
Under the PDPA, you may request access to the personal data we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete. Much of your data can be viewed and updated directly in your dashboard. For other requests, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Children
The Platform is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes may also be communicated by email or a notice on the Platform.
